Mr. Sukumar Dhanapalan has over six years of experience in teaching, research, and industry. He has pursued B.E Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, M.E Degree in Aerospace Technology from Anna University, Chennai.
He is an Expert for Aircraft Maintenance Skill, He represented Team INDIA in World Skills 2019-KAZAN (by AASSC- Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council & INDIA SKILLS, NSDC). He was the Mentor for the competitors of Team India Aircraft Maintenance Skill in World Skills 2019 (by AASSC- Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council & INDIA SKILLS, NSDC). He performed as a Chief Expert for the Aircraft Maintenance Skill competition in INDIA Skills 2018 in association with AASSC- Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council & INDIA SKILLS, NSDC, at Aerocity, New Delhi on 2nd-6th October 2018.
He has attended several National and International conferences and workshops. He has published and presented six papers in International and National conferences and journals. His paper was selected as a Best paper (Best Paper Award) in IEI-30th National Convention of Aerospace Engineers & National Seminar on “Aerospace Technology: Future Trends and Developments” conducted by IEI (The Institution of Engineers India).
His academic interests are in the areas of Aerodynamics and Wind Turbine Technology. He organised Four sponsored Faculty Development Programs,

IIT-Madras appreciated for Initiating the Rural Engineering Technology Club (R-ETC) in collaboration with RTBi (IITM‟s Rural Technology and Business Incubators) and CSTRI (Council for Science and Technology for Rural India). He got the Best Faculty award (2018-19) From SOA (School of Aeronautics) for the effort and contribution in developing the MTOE for CAR-147 approval.
